Here in Alberta we have had an unusually mild winter, but that doesnʼt stop us longing for the first warm days of spring! I will admit that I have a touch of “spring fever” looking around my house and garden, it is easy to make a lengthy list of all of the “projects” that need my attention! but really who wants to do all that boring cleaning and organizing? not me! So as all great procrastinators do I looked for more fun and entertaining things to do! It really didnʼt take long for inspiration to hit, over the past couple of months Diane and I have been working on a series of new bags. Super cool, a flip on one of our original styles of a messenger bag that have a fabric body and leather flap, this new style has a leather body with a coordinating fabric flap and adjustable fabric strap. Well we want to set out these fantastic new bags in a new display, so I thought that some new girls dresses would be the perfect complement. The dresses are patch worked together from new and reused fabrics that we have been collecting for years, bits and pieces from bags that we have made, cute pieces that catch our eye at the fabric store, even our families old clothing, nothing is safe when we are on a mission! The one of a kind dresses when complete are for little girls 12 months and up, reversible inside out and back to front thatʼs 3 outfits in one! less laundry! you are welcome moms! A finishing touch for our display is a new type of bag that came to life after a customer asked us to make a bag to hold her water bottle.Perfect for walking or festival going, it can be worn across your body or popped into your bag, this reversible one of a kind style of bag turns out to be a great way to use the boxes of fabric samples that we have! Yay for recycling! So if you would like to check out what we have been doing instead of what we “should” have been doing! we can be found every Saturday in Edmonton at The Old Stathcona Farmers Market 8-3. We will have all kinds of cool new fun things to see.
